This simple yet elegant home in La Jolla’s “Upper Hermosa” neighborhood embodies the elements of the architectural “Monterey style”.   The home was approved by the California Coastal Committee and the La Jolla Architectural design review committee, but was never constructed.  The massing of the home steps with the site as much as possible in order to draw importance to the front door, downplay the garages, as well as maintain one story elements in the rear yard for the sake of scale.
