A site this serene is hard to come by.  Located near the top of Mt. Tamalpais and set among redwood groves, the setting for this home is no less than one of nature’s many wonders.  On some days, views extend over 150 miles to the snow capped Sierras. While the twinkling lights of the busy Oakland / San Francisco bay area are only a few thousand feet below, the heavens seem to be within reach.  The complexity of the construction of this house extends way beyond what is perceived by the visitor.  This was a previous landslide site.  With the help of retaining walls anchored with dead men and tiebacks as well as Geo-grids, the site was salvaged.  At one point the project had a list of eleven consultants and professional trades, making it one of the most complicated projects we have built.  An endless view with only the sounds of the trees and the birds above – a true sense of place has been created with this home, on this site.
