Channel Vista, Newport Beach

Inspired by the Biltmore hotel in Santa Barbara, this home lets you know you have arrived.  As part of the entry experience, the pool is located in the front surrounded by a beautifully proportioned assembly of geometries that make the very balanced massing of this exemplary Santa Barbara style home.  It was said in the neighborhood that swimming pools were not so desirable because the higher elevation ocean views made for windy and cool days too cold year round for a pool.  Again a problem translated into a “design opportunity” for an atypical residential concept.  The pool was placed in the front yard making for a beautiful entry statement.  Once again, a problem becomes a solution or opportunity to create a unique setting and home.  It all started with architect Rob Sinclair’s napkin sketch of the floor plan.  Fabio then translated that brilliant sketch into a home.
